What Bonuses Does The Shaman Set From The Vault of the Incarnates Have?
The shaman set in the Vault of
the Incarnates looks
really great. Not only does it have great visuals with all those earth-themed
armor pieces, but it also offers a couple of very solid set effects for
everyone who manages to collect 2+ items. Let’s take a closer look at what’s in
the bag for spirit walkers of Alliance & Horde.
Elemental Bonuses
For those who are fond of throwing lava
bolts at their enemies Blizzard have prepared some serious damage enhancers.
Your 2-piece bonus this time basically gives you a 25% spell damage increase
but there’s a twist, of course. Whenever you use a Lightning Bolt, Chain
Lightning, or Lava Burst you get a 5% increase effect. You can get 5 of those
stacked upon each other. But it doesn’t increase just every skill’s damage, it
only works for any of these: Elemental Blast, Earth Shock, or Earthquake. The choice of abilities here is quite
peculiar: you have an instant one, a cast spell, and an AOE. So you will likely
find a fitting empowered spell for each situation.
You can make even more out of these
spells, if you collect 4 pieces. That will get you a 7.5% mastery increase for
5 seconds after you use any of the empowered spells: Elemental Blast, Earth
Shock, or Earthquake. So you can just combine the effects of those bonuses for
the maximum damage boost.
Enhancement Bonueses
If you’re more into melee shamanism, enhancement bonuses are right for you. The 2-piece one deals with Stormstrike. If you use it, you increase your next Fire-, Frost-, or Nature-related ability’s damage by 10%. It applies only to direct abilities. Also, you get an extra Maelstrom Weapon stack. The 4-piece bonus develops on it and makes consumption of Maelstrom Weapon stacks more rewarding. To be precise, it increases Haste by 1% for each stack for 4 seconds. That means that you get a short window to make a damage burst with the right succession of abilities. Not bad, we’d say.
Restoration Bonuses
For those who are in touch with the
spirits of restoration, VOTI
bosses have their own bonuses. The
2-piece effect deals with critical healing. Chance for it increases by 10%
whenever you have an active Cloudburst Totem or a Healing Stream Totem. It
looks like it also increases your critical strike chance, so your damage should
increase too, but that’s not exactly useful for the healer spec. The 4-piece
bonus enhances your critical healing scaling: it becomes 215% of your regular
one instead of 200%. So although this bonus looks like a pretty addition, it’s
not very impactful.
Verdict
Elemental shamans seem to have a very pleasant evening reading about their bonuses. The first Dragonflight raid is going to supply them with a nice damage increase, so they have all the rights to be joyful. Enhancement shamans are also at luck, although their damage increase might turn out to be less spectacular than that of their elemental neighbors. And as for restoration shamans, we’d say that their bonus is not much to write home about. It’s useful, of course, but nothing special, to be honest. Not what you’d expect from a raid set, at least.
That said, we might expect to have elementals somewhere at the top of the recounter in this tier. Hopefully. Not much has changed for enhancers: they are likely to remain a niche spec. And resto shams are fine without any bonuses but their new ones will not likely live up to the spec’s might. Time will tell, of course.
